Introductions

So far, in this lifetime, I have had one blog... a blog that detailed my running life (and in some ways my emotional health) that took place largely in my former home of Brooklyn, NY.

I truly enjoyed sharing my thoughts with everyone & so I have decided to start a new blog detailing my life with our brand new twins -- Lucille (Lucy) Bloom & Hunter (Hunny) Knox. My goal isn't to post every day or every week, for that matter, but to share the growth & hopeful well being of our twins as they adjust to this world.

So here I go...

After 38 weeks and 2 days of "multiples" pregnancy, I was delighted to vaginally (sorry people, I am proud) give birth to two of the most beautiful babies I have ever laid eyes on. I will save all of you the discomfort of seeing photos of me leading up to the birth, which illustrate how a relatively small framed girl can appear larger than a bulldozer. Not that any of it matters now, as there is no question that I will be back in tip top shape as I have now been cleared to start running again! But back to the babies!

Lucy & Hunny were born 3 minutes apart in the wee hours of October 8th. They were both healthy, big babies (for twins) -- weighing in at 6.7 lbs & 6.1 lbs respectively.

Life has been a major adjustment, which I will share more details of later -- but I first wanted to send along these photos to wet your whistles!

Just three days after being born, Ms. Lucy

Same for Hunny

One week old & starting to really change

First bath, which is one of my favorite moments so far

  1. What a wonderful idea! And you should be proud. That must have been very challenging work to deliver the way you did.
