Life has actually been pretty great lately. Kids finished their first year of preschool & are on summer break, which means spending most of their time trying to manipulate Nick or I out of something (toonies, treats, trips to the store) & the rest of their time playing together with legos or outside running around, coloring the neighborhood with their screams, laughter & cries.
Their report cards this year were so endearing. Lucy received high praise for listening but the teachers said she was a quiet little thing that always was thinking, shy & sweet! Hunter is a boy boys the teachers said, always so happy & ambitious to join in activities but struggled with keeping his energy contained.
I thought I would point out a few cute traits/quirks about each of them so you can too enjoy their character growth:
T H E . H U N T S
- Is the hard child now, no question about it. He has grumpy days where he self proclaims "i'm grumpy & i don't know why????", hates cleaning up & all he wants to do is eat.
- Wakes up in the morning & within 3 seconds is saying "Mom, mom, what's for breakfast, what are we going to do today, can we get a doooonnnnuuuuutttt, what toonie should we watch???? Mom, MOM, MOOOOOMMMMM!!!!".
- Loves rhythms, "easy, peasy", "sorry charlie"... he says them over & over again with such joy. He has just the best sense of humor.
- Has started to spell his first initial "H" & finds it all over the place, in street signs, on license plates, carved in trees.

L U C Y
- Plays, talks, creates worlds for herself in the blink of an eye. All are very simple, very cute... from doll stories, to mini history lessons on what we did yesterday, to what our neighbors or friends are doing.
- Makes up stories about being hurt/talked down to, with a real attitude for the situation -- I am sooo hurt because he called me "Bobby".
- Says things like "I slept SO GOOD, SO FANTASTIC last night, Mama", or "This ice cream is the BEST VANILLA I have ever had". Starting to describe things in a really beautiful way.
- Is my bff. I know, I know, I will learn my lesson, first it started with wanting to marry Hunts but now it's grown to Lucy & me being besties. We laugh SOOOO hard, have such similar sense of humor & really understand each other. As many of you know, I am a girls girl through & through. And she is my number one girl, for life.

Nap time is something of the past for us, if they ever do sleep during the day it's at 5pm while watching a toonie. Other than that, they are go-go-go all day long & crash hard. We have such a simple life, much of the day spent outdoors, such a quiet life (except for our continual conversations)... I really couldn't ask for anything more.
