Hunter, the once "easiest baby on this planet earth", is now showing signs of all things boy -- including getting into every little corner of our house, climbing up as high as possible on anything he can make his way on top of & attempting to destroy/take apart anything that is in front of him -- usually with this mouth.
I have this reoccurring dream about the little Hunts where he is left alone in the wilderness with nothing but his diaper on. Throughout the night these animals -- like wolves, bears, you get the picture -- come & try to snack on them. But as soon as they get close, Hunts just grabs one of their limbs & starts gnawing on it until he has eaten the entire animal. I have NO IDEA what the dream means, but I have an uncomfortable feeling it has something to do with my limited knowledge of the male species. You see -- you can't flirt your way out of a crying, hungry baby boy -- one actually requires parenting skills to come into play at some point.
Lucy is still as sweet & determined as ever -- she quietly reads in the corner of the room for hours a day, with the most sweetest voice says things like "momma", "dadda", "baby", "banana", loves to dance to music & will stop herself in the middle of a walk to shake her body -- which is seriously the cutest thing you will ever see. See video below.
But on the other hand, she is quite sure that every toy is for her, everyone around her has shown up to see her (this includes public places) & that her mother does not have any other children OR responsibilities besides caring for her every need. She has taken to throwing fits where she literally throws herself on the ground screaming at the top of her lungs until she is given what she wants -- her scream sounds something like "I want what WANT & I want it NOW". I definitely have a lot to learn but one thing Miss Lucy is going to have to realize is that there is only one boss in the family & unfortunately it is not her. To-date, my success at this would rate me close to a D-.
Life has slowed down as Fall has set in, which is really beautiful in it's own little way. I have major fitness goals for 2014 including more yoga, more running & excelling at shorter distances like 5K's & 10K's -- along with my obsession with CrossFit. Although I feel far away from my pre-pregnancy body, I can say that I enjoy a handful of great workouts each week including track night, Saturday long run, Vinyasa yoga & my fair share of WODs. Which makes for a very happy girl (and mom)!!!
